All the soloing comes from a place of gratefulness, love, and passion. Putting together different sounds and creating all the compositions has brought me great joy. This project is special to me because it is the first one that I produced. At other times, the piano is in the forefront. Sometimes it floats in, out and around a steady groove, while synth or drum pads or bass take the lead. As a pianist, the piano is the prevailing sound in all my compositions. My goal was to utilize different genres of music I appreciate to create a unique listening experience. The music in the album combines a few different genres a fusion some would say. All of that together makes a nice cozy resting place for your ears. Improvisation provide the walling and support beams, The melodies form the roofing.

With coronavirus infiltrating our world, I saw it as an opportunity to dig deep into my creative cauldron and brew up some musical ideas. In The Groove was conceived in April of 2020.
